TUBOD, Lanao del Norte, Aug. 30 -- Nine infrastructure projects under the Makamasang Tugon program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) were formally turned-over by the provincial government of Lanao del Norte to beneficiary barangays of the interior town of Sapad.
The simple turn-over ceremony was held last August 23 at the Sapad municipal grounds in partnership with DSWD Region 10. The projects are part of the first cycle of the Makamasang Tugon implementation in Sapad.
The nine beneficiary barangays were Panulo-on, Mama-anon, Katipunan, Inudaran I, Inudaran II, Pancilan, Poblacion, Dansalan, and Malasalog.
“The provincial government is always supportive of these projects because we know that these projects are what the people truly desire. The continued implementation of Makamasang Tugon projects here in the province is proof of our exemplary performance,” Governor Khalid Dimaporo said.
Completed projects include drainage canal, upgrading of farm to market road, construction of footbridge, construction of day care center and re-gravelling of farm to market road.
The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte through its Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) gave 1.2 million pesos as its cash counterpart for the implementation of identified projects.
“I am very satisfied with the efforts of our barangay officials and volunteers who worked very hard during the 8-month project implementation,” expressed DSWD-10 Community Process Specialist Nonoy Alabado.
For their part, the grateful barangay officials committed to properly maintain the projects consigned to them. ( Vincent N. Labial & Lovely A. Rosario-PIO/LDN/PIA10)
